Overview

The Coffee Lab & Lounge, nestled on the ground floor of Marlim Mansions Hotel along MacArthur Highway in Balibago, Angeles, Pampanga, is a refined yet welcoming coffee shop that artfully blends the charm of a laboratory with the comfort of a lounge. This spot caters to those who appreciate not only quality brews but also thoughtfully crafted food and a relaxing atmosphere.

The highlight of their menu gives a nod to comfort with dishes like Chicken Alfredo and the intriguingly named Vacuum Mindanao, showcasing a fusion of familiar flavors with a modern twist. These choices reflect their ambition to elevate everyday meals into a gourmet experience, ideal for food lovers seeking something both satisfying and inventive.

Stepping inside, visitors find a space that balances coziness and spaciousness. The interior is cleverly designed to resemble a scientific experiment in progress—beverages come served in glassware reminiscent of lab tools, adding a playful edge to the overall dining experience. This unique presentation is paired with a calm ambiance, though occasional feedback notes moments when sound levels have been a bit high, which the management would do well to moderate.

The Coffee Lab & Lounge appeals to a diverse crowd. From families enjoying expertly crafted mains and sweet treats like the notably praised Biscoff Cheesecake, to solo visitors stopping by for specialty coffees such as Vietnamese Egg Coffee or hojicha, there is an offering for nearly every palate. Though the Vietnamese coffee tends toward a sweeter profile, adjustments can be requested to suit individual tastes, speaking to attentive service despite some reports of inconsistent staff focus.

The spatial layout encourages both quiet reflection and casual hangouts, with indoor and outdoor seating options allowing guests to tailor their experience. It is particularly suited to casual diners, coffee enthusiasts, and those looking for a stylish spot to unwind after a long drive. The staff, generally friendly and approachable, complement the inviting vibe, even as some guests have noted areas for service improvement.

While prices align with Angeles City’s contemporary dining scene and include a service charge, the overall culinary quality, distinctive vibe, and well-kept cleanliness—from the main seating areas to the restrooms—justify the visit. Limited parking may require a bit of planning, but the peaceful atmosphere and gastronomic delights make The Coffee Lab & Lounge a destination worth returning to.

I ordered hojicha and Vietnamese coffee, and overall, I enjoyed my hojicha. Even though the powder was just okay in quality, I appreciated the large serving size and the fact that it wasn't too milky or overly sweet. The Vietnamese coffee, on the other hand, was extremely sweet—possibly too much for my taste. The ambiance was thoughtfully designed, with a cozy interior. However, two aspects quite affected my experience: first, the music was played way too loudly, making it uncomfortable; second, the staff seemed scattered around, talking loudly and not appearing very engaged. It gave off a vibe of being more of a hangout spot than a professional service environment. I hope these issues can be addressed because I'm still excited to visit again and try the food next time.

Foods are expensive. Biscoff Cheesecake is so good! They have savory dishes available like pastas, silogs and steaks. They also have non-coffee variants. Beverages are uniquely placed in a science-experiment glasses. I had Vietnamese Egg Coffee and it was too sweet! I can’t! I had to ask for a hot water just like my friend suggested to die down the sweetness. I ordered it hot but it wasn’t hot enough for my taste. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy it. The place is cozy, spacious and clean. The restrooms are clean as well, good job! Staff are friendly. There’s 10% service charge.

I ordered coffee and pancakes. The plating of the coffee was cool and tasted good. I was just a not a fan of the pancakes served. Seems dry from the microwaving (not freshly done) but the atmosphere compensated for it.

The Coffee Lab & Lounge offers a warm, welcoming experience from the moment you walk in. The staff are genuinely friendly, greeting you with smiles that make you feel right at home. The space is generous, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting—relaxing music plays at just the right volume, and the tasteful decor strikes a perfect balance. Ordering is simple and efficient, and the food is outstanding—each dish thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Prices are on par with other spots in the Angeles City area, but the gourmet-style taste truly sets this place apart. It’s great for both casual diners and food lovers alike. I had the biscuits and gravy—not your traditional Southern style, but elevated, like something you'd find in upscale dining. My wife chose the eggs Benedict and said, “This is by far the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted. It’s soft, not chewy, and the flavors burst in my mouth.” Our 7-year-old son devoured the freshly made blueberry waffles and savory sausage patty with joy. Our family wholeheartedly recommends The Coffee Lab & Lounge. We’ll definitely be coming back. 5 out of 5 stars!

Went in for a quick rest after a long drive. The vibe of the place is quite soothing. The decors are new and clean. The service staff is approachable and friendly. i tried the refreshers and it tasted good. Prices are a bit steep though. Didnt expect that they have a service charge. They have limited parking outside. overall a great place to take a break during the night.

Good ambiance. They have a non-smoking area, which is perfect for gatherings, especially if you have kids or toddlers with you. The food and meals are on the expensive side, and the beverages are above average in price, similar to other cafés. I like how each beverage has a customized design, making it feel like you're in a real lab tech environment. As for the staff, I would rate them 3 stars. They can do the job well, but they lack hospitality. I expected them to smile, especially when we tried to interact with them. They answered our questions, but it would be better if they were trained to smile at customers. When the lady served our food, she had no expression at all, almost as if we owed her an apology for ordering. We even tried to lighten the mood to make her smile, but she still didn’t. However, the gentleman who took our order was good. Considering the food is expensive, the customer service should also match the price. The ambiance is good, though. It is a bit cramped downstairs, but the upper area is okay and offers more privacy. There are also smokers outside. The WiFi does not work in the upper area. I tried using it downstairs months ago, and it worked there. (But slow, only 2 hours.) This time, we did not use their WiFi at all since we had our own data, and their WiFi not working. WiFi = nicht gut. ???????? Added photos from March 2025 and November 2025. Overall, I will still give this café 5 stars because I spent my time there with my lovely friends before migrating to Germany. (⊃ • ʖ̫ • )⊃

i had such a wonderful experience here! The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, but what really stood out was the coffee. It was rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed easily one of the best cups I’ve had in a long time. The balance of flavor showed real care in sourcing and preparation. i would love to come back again!
